Donaciano D. Chapa Donaciano D. Chapa, 86, died on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010.

He was born on Sept. 6, 1923, to Silvestre and Martina Chapa in Kingsville.

He was a retired WWII Army Veteran and Purple Heart recipient, charter member of disabled American Veteran Chapter 203, VFW #2375, member of military order of Purple Heart, Catholic War Veterans, member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and St. Joseph’s Mutalista and long time employee for Wilson True Value.

Survivors include two daughters, Adriana Trevino of Kingsville and Cynthia (Roy) Hicks of Corpus Christi; three brothers, Adolfo Chapa and Silvestre Chapa, both of Kingsville and Juan Chapa of Pomona, Calif.; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Aug. 31.

A rosary was recited Aug. 31 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Romero Salinas officiating.

Burial followed at Chamberlain Cemetery with complete military honors and Kleberg County Detail.
