Curtis H. Roberts Curtis H. Roberts Curtis H. Roberts, 80, of Mathis, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at his residence.

He was born on March 2, 1930, in Bauxite, Ark., to Rev. Harve Roberts and Era Mae Young Roberts.

Roberts was employed with the the Corpus Christi Police Department as a criminal investigator.

He was also a justice of the peace and county commissioner of Bee County.

Roberts, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 1350, A.F. & A.M. in Corpus Christi.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Betty J. Roberts of Mathis; two sons, Ricky (Rhonda) Roberts of Corpus Christi, and James (Laura) Menn of Beeville; two daughters, Cindy (David Hewitt) Freudenberg of Austin, and Kathy (Dewey) Hubert of Riviera; two brothers, Bryant Roberts of Fort Worth, and Floyd Roberts of Ohio; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville.

A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Sheldon Johnson officiating.

Masonic services will follow the chapel service.

Burial with full military honors provided by the Veterans of Kleberg County Military Funeral Detail will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
