LADY BRAHMAS SOCCER HEADED FOR TIE BREAKER

Concluding their District 31-4A schedule against Alice this past Friday, the Lady Brahma varsity soccer team faces Laredo Nixon in a tie-breaker game - for sole possession of second place in District 31-4A - at 7 p m. at MOPAC on Monday; March 15. H.M. King lost to Nixon 3-1 this past Monday; Katrina Cantu scored the Lady Bulls’ only goal.

H.M. King and Nixon are both playoff bound. Depending on Monday’s result, the Lady Brahmas commence their postseason either against Calallen (at 6 p m. on Thursday) or at Gregory Portland (at 6 p m. on Friday).

LADY BRAHMA SOFTBALL

H.M. King High School’s varsity softball team defeated Alice 5-1 this past Tuesday. The Lady Brahmas recorded seven hits and did not commit a single error.

Constance Brandenburg pitched a complete game striking out six batters and only allowing a pair of hits. Stephanie Lozano went two for three from the plate and batted in a pair of runs. Emily Ochoa and Brandenburg both went one for three. Desiree Ayarzagoitia and Brandenburg each batted in a run. Julia Sanford went one for four and batted in a run.

Brittany Arredondo went one for two. Maribel Mireles went one for three.

The Lady Brahma varsity softball team hosts Laredo Nixon at 12 p.m. on Tuesday. H.M. King’s varsity and junior varsity softball teams visit Laredo LBJ at 10 a m. and 12 p m. on Thursday.

BRAHMA BASEBALL

H.M. King High School’s varsity baseball team hosts Laredo Nixon at 7 p m. on Tuesday and then hosts Zapata at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. The Brahma junior varsity and freshman baseball teams visit Alice at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p m. on Wednesday.

H.M. King’s varsity baseball team visits Corpus Christi Miller at 6 p m. on Thursday. The Brahma junior varsity and freshman baseball teams host C.C. Miller at 10 a.m. and 1 p m. on Thursday. H.M. King’s varsity baseball team hosts Laredo LBJ at 7 p m. on Friday.

Santa Gertrudis Academy High School’s varsity softball team hosts Quest Academy at 6 p m. on Tuesday, visits La Villa at 5 p.m. on Friday, and hosts Port Aransas at 6 p m. on Saturday

Santa Gertrudis Academy High School’s varsity baseball team hosts Bruni at 4:30 p m. on Tuesday, visits San Isidro at 4:30 p m. on Friday, and then visits Agua Dulce on Saturday. Academy’s junior varsity baseball team hosts Port Aransas at 11 a m. on Wednesday.

Bishop High School’s varsity and junior varsity baseball teams host Premont on Tuesday (5 p m. and 7:30 p.m.), visit San Diego on Thursday (5 p m. and 7:30 p m.) and then host Hebbronville on Saturday (5 p m. and 7:30 p m.).
