H.M. King students earn awards at visual arts event

H.M. Students from H.M. King High School earned awards at the Visual Arts Scholastic Event held Feb. 27 at Tuloso Midway High School in Corpus Christi.

The results of the event are as follows:

Rosie Gonzalez presented her piece, titled Blue Cat in Tempera Paint, earned 55 points out of 60 and had a rating of 4, which means she was superior in Division One (Art I).

Abigail Lerma presented her piece, titled Dandelions in Digital Photography, earned 56 points out of 60 and had a rating of 4, which means she was superior in Division 2 (Art II).

This piece is advancing to the State Contest April 9-10.

Abigail Lerma presented her piece, titled Colored Glass in Digital Photography, earned 58 points out of 60 and had a rating of 4, which means she was superior in Division 2 (Art II). This piece is advancing to the State Contest April 9-10.

Joshua Boccardi presented his piece, titled Tiki in the Shadows in Colored Pencil, earned 60 points out of 60 and had a rating of 4, which means he was superior in Division 4 (AP).

Richard Almaraz presented his piece, titled Illusions in Nature in Electronic Media, earned 60 points out of 60 and had a rating of 4, which means he was superior in Division 4 (AP).

Celeste Henry presented her piece, titled Grapes in Colored Pencil, earned 60 points out of 60 and had a rating of 4, which means she was superior in Division 4 (AP).

Celeste Henry presented her piece, titled Cow Skull in Oil Paint, earned 52 points out of 60 and had a rating of 4, which means she was superior in Division 4 (AP).

Lydia Herrera presented her piece, titled My Thing in Violet in Colored Pencil, earned 55 points out of 60 and had a rating of 4, which means she was superior in Division 4 (AP).

Reality Winner presented her piece, titled Mr. Mandela in Oil Paint, earned 60 points out of 60 and had a rating of 4, which means she was superior in Division 4 (AP). This piece is advancing to the State Contest April 9-10.
