Cole to make presentation to Music Club
Judith Cole
Judith Cole, Associate Professor at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, will present “Copland’s Collaborations with Modern Dance Choreographers Martha Graham and Agnes de Mille” at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 9 at the Music Club of Kingsville located at 215 West Henrietta Avenue.
After teaching elementary music at Calallen Independent School District she joined the faculty at Texas A&M University-Kingsville where she teaches music education and music history courses.
She also coordinates and teaches Orff Schulwerk Teacher Training and Certification courses.
During the past two decades, she has taught Orff certification courses at The Ohio State University, University of Mississippi, New Mexico State University, University of Northern Colorado, Colorado State University, The Florida State University, and University of Northern Arizona.
Cole is the immediate past president of the American Orff- Schulweck Association.
She served on the Editorial Board of the Orff Echo and as co-chairman for the 1995 National Conference celebrating the centenary of Carl Orff’s birth.
In addition to Orff Schulwerk teaching and learning processes, Cole’s research interests include Balinese gamelan, folk dancing, and motor skill development as it relates to playing musical instruments.
