EAGLES TRACK

Presbyterian Pan American School’s track team competed at the Asics Invitational meet held at Javelina Stadium on Saturday.

Christian Ortiz won the junior varsity 300-meter Hurdles and Hugo Aguilar came in fifth. Ortiz also won the J.V. Long Jump while Chan Kim came in fifth and Aguilar finished twelfth. Ortiz was also the victor in the J.V. Triple Jump while Aguilar placed sixth and Erick Luna tied for ninth. Aguilar also placed eighth in the J.V. 110-meter Hurdles.

Javier Villegas finished sixth in the J.V. Shot Put competition. Luna also came in ninth in the J.V. 400-meter Dash and tenth in the 800-meter Run.

Alfonso Ramos finished eighteenth in the junior varsity boys 200-meter Dash. Competing in the J.V. 400-meter Dash was Ivonne Mora who finished eighteenth. Ana Laura de Leon finished fourth in the J.V. Long Jump and Ana Melendez came in sixteenth. De Leon also placed ninth in the Triple Jump.

Tania Rodriguez finished twelfth in the J.V. 800-meter Run while Ivonne Mora came in fourteenth. Ana Melendez, Ivonne Mora, Ceci Moreno and Jimena Hernandez finished in eighth place in the 1600-meter Relay.

BADGERS TRACK

Bishop High School’s boys and girls track and field teams competed at the Asics Invitational meet at Javelina Stadium this past Saturday. James Drummond finished thirteenth in the varsity Shot Put competition while Zack Lowman came in eighteenth. Christina Gonzalez came in second in the junior varsity 1600-meter Run.

Destynee Lerma finished eighth in the J.V. 100-meter Dash while Amy Alvarado came in 18th and Katie Mechelle placed 19th. Michelle also finished 18th in the 100-meter Hurdles. Bianca Silvas finished sixth in the J.V. 800-meter Run. Elizabeth Pierce finished 18th in the J.V. 3200-meter Run.

LIONS OUT OF

PLAYOFFS

Santa Gertrudis Academy High School’s varsity boys basketball season came to and end on Friday after the Lions lost in the Area round of the playoffs to the George Gervin Academy of San Antonio 67- 46. Academy scored 15 points in the first quarter, four in the second, eight in the third and 19 in the final period.

Chris Ainsworth led his team with 13 points. Also scoring were Emilio Martinez (6 points), Raul Garcia (6), Connor DeLaney (5), Aaron Ramon (5), Lalo Gonzalez (4), Isaac Alvarado (3), Eddie Resendez (2), and Randy Cavazos (2).

The Lions (District 32-A champions at 9-1) conclude their season 20-13 overall.

The Lady Badgers varsity softball team competes at a tournament hosted by Santa Gertrudis Academy High School Thursday through Saturday.

Bishop High School’s varsity baseball team hosts a tournament this Thursday through Saturday.

LIONS

Santa Gertrudis Academy High School’s varsity softball team hosts a tournament this Thursday through Saturday.

Santa Gertrudis Academy High School’s varsity baseball team visits Benavides at 7 p.m. on Friday.
