Hector L. Leal Sr. Hector L. Leal Sr., 85, of Kingsville, died on Thursday, February 25, 2010 in Kingsville.

Leal was born on October 30, 1924 in Laredo to Jose and Marta Leal.

He was a United States Army, Korean Veteran and retired meat cutter formally employed with Martinez Grocery, Gaffords City market and Cooper Supermarket. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Alicia F. Leal of Kingsville; four daughters, Angela (Ricky) Huerta, Belinda (Tomas) Lomas, Annette (Daniel) Alvarado and Patricia Leal Soto all of Kingsville; one son, Hector L. Leal Jr. of San Antonio; 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Feb. 26 at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home in Kingsville.

A rosary was recited Feb. 26 at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.

A funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Feb. 27 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with the Rev. Peter Thenan officiating.

Burial followed at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery.
