William E. Childs William E. Childs, 81, of Kingsville, and a former longtime resident of Houston, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, in Kingsville.

He was born on Nov. 27, 1928, in North Carolina to William E. Childs Sr. and Lucille Colvert Childs.

Mr. Childs was an auditor for Gulf Oil Company until his retirement.

Survivors include three sons, William R. (Faye) Childs of South Carolina, Thomas J. (Rose) Childs of Kingsville and Jeff Alan (Samantha) Childs of New Braunfels; sister, Kathleen Ledford of Clinton, South Carolina; brother, Ralph Childs of Clinton, South Carolina; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21 at Turcotte- Piper Mortuary with the Rev. Sheldon Johnson officiating.

Burial will be private and take place on Monday, Feb. 22 at Comal Cemetery in New Braunfels.
