NATIONAL CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK — St. Gertrude Catholic School celebrated National Catholic Schools Week (Feb.1-5) by engaging in many different activities throughout the week. On Wednesday, students celebrated Patriotism Day and wore red, white, and blue. A “Living Rosary”, which was a prayer for the nation particularly those who serve in the military, was recited while students held balloons and released them once the rosary was read. Velma Veliz from Texas Farm Bureau donated the balloons and Rudy Galvan Jr. from Rudy Galvan Paint & Body Collision Center donated the helium.
