Lanette Pennell (bassist, songwriter, vocalist) and Vicki Gillespie (actress, keyboard player, vocalist) formed The Almost Patsy Cline Band in 2002.

Audiences loved the harmonies by Pennell and Gillespie and the frequently requested Patsy Cline songs spawned the band name.

It seemed that people were also starved for gospel hymns, so Lanette, Vicki and Brian Kibbe formed the APC Trio.

They perform their Gospel Show and other shows in many different places across the state, when they are not performing with the band.

The Texas Commission on the Arts has placed the Almost Patsy Cline Band on the 2008 – 2010 Touring Artists and Companies Roster.

The Roster is part of the state grant system that provides funds for the support of the performing arts and a Who’s Who of Texas Acts that tour the state.

In 2003, Denise Griffin, Mayor of Bandera, declared The Almost Patsy Cline Band the Official City Goodwill Ambassadors. 2004 brought the Cowboy Capital Award from the Bandera County Chamber of Commerce, awarded for spreading the brand of The Cowboy Capital of the World.

A third CD, Almost Patsy, was released in November of 2007.

It is a respectful tribute to the greatest female country singer of all time, Patsy Cline.

The Almost Patsy Cline band and Trio continues to perform throughout the state for Texans and visitors alike.

They have performed in several places including Celebrate Bandera, The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, The Gillespie County Fair, the 2008 Texas Association of Fairs and Events Showcase in Austin or at numerous private dance clubs, corporate events and fundraisers.

The APC Trio consists of Lanette Pennell, Vicki Gillespie and Brian Kibbe.

These three get together and sing out gospel tunes with the same passion as their country music performances.

Country and gospel music are so intertwined in history and like many other country musicians, these three grew up singing gospel songs.
