Soleil Leigh Pilgrim, 24, of Kingsville, died Jan. 29, 2010, in Kingsville after a long battle with Tuberous Sclerosis.
She was born on Aug. 17, 1985, to Denise Garcia and the late Timothy Lee Pilgrim.
Pilgrim was very helpful both at home and occasionally volunteered at Bishop Primary where her mom worked.
Pilgrim attended Kingsville ISD from kindergarten to fifth grade. She then attended Bishop CISD from sixth grade until her graduation from Bishop High School in May 2006.
She is preceded in death by her father Timothy Lee Pilgrim of Kingsville, her maternal grandmother Sylvia Rangel Garcia of Ben Bolt, and paternal grandmother Carol Pilgrim and brother, Juan Diego Herrera, both of Kingsville.
Survivors include her parents, Denise (David) Richey of Kingsville; sister, Elasha Pilgrim of Kingsville; brothers, Jaime Herrera of Fort Hood, and Hector Herrera of Okinawa, Japan; maternal grandfather, Jose (Kookie) Garcia and paternal grandfather, George (Glenna) Pilgrim, all of Kingsville; paternal step-grandmother, Yolanda Herrera of Zapata and many aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece and a nephew.
Visitation was held Feb. 2 at Kingsville Memorial Funeral Home.
A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Feb. 3 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop M. Garcia officiating. Burial followed at Chamberlain Cemetery.
