Harold “Hal” John Yaklin Jr., 57, of Kingsville, died Jan. 30, 2010, in Corpus Christi.
He was born on July 6, 1952, in Kingsville to Harold John Yaklin and Joyce Terry Yaklin.
Yaklin was employed with Celanese until his retirement in 2006.
After his retirement, he was a self-employed electrical contractor.
He was a devout member of St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church serving as an extraordinary minister and CCD teacher for over 25 years.
Yaklin was an active member of the Knights of Columbus No. 3389 where he also assisted as being a Boy Scout Troop Leader for many years.
He and his wife Lynette enjoyed being part of the Tejas Dance Club.
His hobbies included barbecuing, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Lynette Yaklin of Kingsville; three sons, Harold John Yaklin III, Nicholas Duane Yaklin and Bradley Dane Yaklin, all of Austin; parents, Harold John and Joyce Yaklin of Kingsville; two sisters, Susan (Clifton) Dotson of Kingsville and Nancy (Harold) McCollough of Three Rivers; four brothers, George (Renae) Yaklin of Orange Grove, Terry (Betty) Yaklin of Corpus Christi, Bryan (Kay) Yaklin of San Marcos, and Greg (Terri) Yaklin of Universal City; mother-in-law, Myrtle Hausler of Kingsville; two brothers-in-law, Alan and Ron Hausler of Kingsville; two stepsons, Michael and Jeff Haunschild of Kingsville; and several nieces and nephews.
A rosary was recited Feb. 2 at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church in Kingsville.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at 2 p.m. Feb. 3 at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Piotr A. Koziel as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Vattmann, at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Cemetery.
Turcotte-Piper Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
