Bishop Badger Baseball has been honored with three selections to the 2010 South Texas Preseason High School All-Star Team.

Selected to the small school (1A-3A) team were senior Carl Huizar, junior Joey Olvera and senior A.J. Gaona.

Huizar was selected as a first team pitcher, while Olvera was selected as an honorable mention pitcher.

Gaona was selected as an honorable mention utility player (plays multiple positions).

The honorable mention team was made up of players from all classifications while the first team was made up of members of schools of the same size.

“These are great honors and are a result of the team’s success in 2009, as well as recognizing those individual efforts. We are very proud of these young men,” Bishop Badger Athletic Director Larry Vincent said.
