Marcos Benavides
Marcos Benavides, 60, of Falfurrias, died Jan. 24, 2010, at his residence in Falfurrias.
He was born on June 18, 1949, to the Rev. Eusebio Benavides and Aurora Bazan Benavides in Falfurrias.
In his earlier years Benavides served in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician and later became a Master Sergeant.
He then retired after serving many years as a recruiter and was currently employed by Texas A&M University-Kingsville as Assistant Director Camp Coordinator for TAMUK’s Special Programs.
Survivors include his loving wife, Alicia Torres Benavides of Falfurrias; son, Marcos Jacinto (Elizabeth Ashley) Benavides of Falfurrias; daughter, Crystal Lynn (Javier Adrian) Anguiano of San Antonio; brother, Homer (Lucky) Benavides of Falfurrias; five sisters, Lydia B. Arredondo of La Copita, Evangelina B. Zarate, Rev. Esmeralda B. (Daniel) Rodriguez, Amanda B. (Alfredo) Garza and Criselda B. (Corry) Escalante, all of Falfurrias; one granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
A prayer service was recited Jan. 26 by the Rev. Don Villarreal at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Falfurrias.
A funeral service was celebrated Jan. 27 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams.
Burial will follow at the Benavides Family Cemetery in La Copita.
