“Second notice” tax statements from Kleberg County have been mailed to residents who have not yet paid their taxes.

Original 2009 tax statements were mailed in October of 2009.

Taxes must be paid by February 1, 2010 to avoid penalty and interest. Taxes will incur penalty of 6 percent of the amount of the tax for the first calendar month it is delinquent plus 1 percent for each additional month or portion of a month the tax remains unpaid.

Taxpayers who have an over-65 exemption and/or a disabled person exemption who would like to pay their taxes in quarterly installment payments must sign an affidavit, and pay their first installment by Feb. 1.

Call the Kleberg County tax office at 595-8542 for payment options available or mail tax payments to the Kleberg county tax office, P.O. Box 1457, Kingsville, TX 78364-1457. Visa, Mastercard, and Discover are accepted for payment. A three percent fee will apply.
