Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Brown of Dallas announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Desirae LaBelle Brown, to Travis Conley Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Conley Nelson of Kingsville. The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Nelson of Portland and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kastner of Sinton. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Kate Brown of Richardson and the late Mr. Claude Brown and Mr. and Mrs. John Nicholson of Prescott Valley, Ariz. The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of J.J. Pierce High School in Richardson, and a 2007 graduate of Southwestern University in Georgetown. She has a Master of Fine Arts degree from Texas AandM University in College Station. She is presently employed as project coordinator for the Houston nonprofit “Children at Risk.” Travis is a 2003 graduate of H.M. King High School and a 2007 graduate of Southwestern University in Georgetown. He received his Master of Science degree in Accounting from Mays School of Business at Texas AandM University in College Station. He is a Certified Public Accountant with Weaver LLP in Houston. A March 20, 2010 wedding is planned at Lois Perkins Chapel on the campus of Southwestern University in Georgetown.
