Julia Felma Yarborough Banner Julia Felma Yarborough Banner Julia Felma Yarborough Banner was born in New Orleans on Feb. 11, 1918, to Thomas Walter Yarborough and Edna Segrue Yarborough.

She died Jan. 17, 2010, in Austin. She was raised and went to school in McComb, Mississippi. She was a policewoman in Baton Rouge, La., worked at the Federal Reserve Bank in San Francisco and finally worked for King Ranch until 1983 when she retired.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Macon Banner, Kingsville; her siblings, Thomas Walter Yarborough Jr., Ted Leon Yarborough and Addie Caroline Yarborough; and her great-grandson, John Franklin Howe.

Julie is survived by her son, Macon Banner and his wife Janis of Kerrville and her daughter, Sarah Banner Dear and her husband Bob of Lakeway, as well as her six grandchildren, Amy Saralegui, Kimberly Storm, Dona Pope, Jerry Howe, Michael Howe and John Howe; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Angie Yarborough of Baton Rouge, La., and many nieces and nephews who called her Aunt Pep.

After her retirement Julia moved to Houston until 1998 when she moved to Austin.

For the last few years she lived at Park Bend Health Center where she was well cared for by the facility staff. For the last few months, Odyssey Hospice has been a caring partner for her.

Visitation was held Jan. 19 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20 at Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville with Fr. Piotr A. Koziel officiating.

Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville.
