Drug abuse poster contest winners revealed
The grand prize winner in the annual Palmer Drug Abuse Program Art Contest is Brenda Gonzalez, an 8th grade student at Memorial Middle School.
The winner will be presented with the grand prize at the 2010 Drug- Free Walk Kickoff luncheon on March 31.
Artwork entries came from several schools and the panel of judges consisted of Judge Pete DeLaGarza, Sheriff Ed Mata, Deputy Sheriff Valerie Enzenbacher, Mayor Sam Fugate, Professor of Art Dr. Maurice Schmidt, Chief Probation Officer Noel N. Pena, Jr., Senior Officer Rick Salinas, County Attorney Delma Rios, City Commissioner Stan Laskowski, County Commissioner David Rosse, and Lucy Perez, Chamber of Commerce Office Manager.
The category winners are as follows:
Gillette School
5th grade: 1st place Amanda Guevara, 2nd place Alexis Herrera,

Memorial School
