Judge DeLaPaz seeks another term

Cheque DeLaPaz, Precinct 4 Kleberg County Justice of the Peace, has announced his bid for reelection in the March 2010 Democratic Primary.
He has served as Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace 15 years.
“I want to continue my path as a public servant to my constituents of Precinct 4,” he said. “I am seeking reelection based on the confidence and trust of supporters and the community of Precinct 4 in Kleberg County.”
DeLaPaz said that during his tenure as Justice of the Peace, he has maintained a balance of sensitivity towards all residents of Kleberg County and has carried out his duties and responsibilities as judge.
“With my experience for the last 15 years, I have been successful with school truancy cases, civil cases, forcible detainment, response to calls of domestic disturbances, accidents and fatalities; this has been possible with the support of the community of Precinct 4,” he said.
“I will continue working
strongly with all local agencies and schools,” DeLaPaz said. He pledged to continue his full-time service to the constituents and Kleberg County.
DeLaPaz has earned 600 hours from Texas State University in the Justice of the Peace Training Program over the years. He has been an active member of the Justice of the Peace and Constable Association for 15 years.
He is an active member of Templo Bethel Church and a past member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is married to Irma DeLaPaz and they have three daughters, Margie (Steve) De La Paz, Martie (Moe Garza) DeLaPaz, Margo DeLaPaz, five grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
