Roel Moralez Villarreal

Roel Moralez Villarreal Former Kingsville resident, Roel Moralez Villarreal, 65, of Cypress, died Dec. 20, 2009, in Houston.

He was born on Feb. 6, 1944, in Riviera to Simon Villarreal and Delfina Moralez Villarreal.

Villarreal was employed at Texas A&M University- Kingsville as Director of Financial Aid until his retirement.

He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Riviera in his early years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus No. 2623. Villarreal was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Diana Villarreal of Cypress, and formerly of Kingsville; daughter, Delena (Jonathan) Martello of Houston; four sisters, Maizie Villarreal, Elma (Jim) Lowe and Elia Villarreal, all of Riviera, and Elvia (Bryan) Sloan of Houston; and three brothers, Robert Villarreal and Raul Villarreal, both of Riviera, and Rudy (Alicia) Villarreal of Katy.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Dec. 23 at the Turcotte- Piper Mortuary Chapel in Kingsville.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Dec. 24 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Riviera with the Rev. Peter Antony as celebrant.

Burial with full military honors provided by the Veterans of Kleberg County Military Funeral Detail will follow at Riviera Cemetery.
