The Bishop Lady Badgers varsity basketball team kept their district record (2-0) unblemished by outplaying the Riviera Lady Seahawks 51-15 this past Tuesday, Dec. 15 in Riviera.

Leading the Lady Badger attack was Kasey Cavazos with 17 points, followed by Kelsey Hayes with nine points in the landslide victory.

Also contributing points were Briana Reyna with seven, Aricela Alvarez with six, Coralie Saenz and Brianne Vincent with four points each and Rina Rivera and Tori Geryk with two points each.

The Lady Badgers also competed in the San Diego Tournament on Dec. 10-12 in San Diego.

Bishop went undefeated in the tournament to earn the championship.

The Lady Badgers opened the tournament with a 58- 19 trouncing of the San Diego Lady Vaqueros JV squad, followed by a 50-45 victory over the Zapata Lady Warriors.

Bishop continued their excellent play with victories over the Falfurrias Jersey Belles 37-24 and Santa Gertrudis Kingsville Academy 48-29.

The Lady Badgers narrowly beat the host team San Diego Lady Vaqueros varsity team 46-45 to earn the championship.

Individual honors for the tournament are as follows: Kasey Cavazos-MVP of the tournament, Kelsey Hayes- Defensive MVP, Aricela Alvarez-All-Tourney, Coralie Saenz-All-Tourney.
