Leonard Charlie Hees Leonard Charlie Hees Leonard Charlie Hees, age 80, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2009 in Kingsville. He was born on October 13, 1929 in Manor, Texas to Ernest Jacob Hees and Dora Ida Prinz Hees. He was the owner of L.C. Hees Construction and Realty. He built over 400 homes and businesses in the South Texas area. Mr. Hees was a devout member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church. His hobbies included gardening, hunting, fishing and anything that his grandchildren were involved in. He was an avid Texas A&I Javelina fan for over 40 years.

Mr. Hees was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lawrence Hees and Reuben Hees; and daughter, Linda Lea.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Julia Hees of Kingsville; three daughters, Glenda (Tom) Best and Susan (Royce) Nitschmann, both of Kingsville, and Pam (Jack) Taylor of Calallen, Texas; one sister, Ruth Garrison of Marble Falls, Texas; four brothers, Gilbert Hees of Mesa, Arizona, Melvin Hees of Plano, Texas, Harold Hees of Aransas Pass, Texas and Donald Hees of Gillette, Texas; nine grandchildren, Nichole (John) Saenz of Riviera, Texas, Michelle (Michael) Trant of Alpine, Texas, Beau (Haylea) Best of Kingsville, Seth Nitschmann of Colorado, Jacob and Charlee Nitschmann, both of Kingsville, Courtney, Whitney and Ryan Taylor, all of Calallen; one greatgrandchild, MaKenna Saenz; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation took place on Friday, December 18, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009 at First Baptist Church, 312 W. King St., Kingsville, with Rev. Ron Earley officiating. Burial followed in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
