Crystal Lomas seeks district clerk post

Crystal L. Lomas Crystal L. Lomas Crystal L. Lomas has announced her candidacy for Kleberg County district clerk for the March 2010 Democratic Primary.

Lomas is a life long resident of Kingsville and is currently employed as a case manager with Kleberg County Human Services where she applies regulations and procedures to determine eligibility for public assistance programs primarily for the elderly and disabled.

Lomas graduated from H.M. King High in 2002 and was the Mighty Brahma Band President in 2002.

Upon graduation she pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science at Texas A&M University- Kingsville and graduated in 2007.

“While attending TAMUK, I was active in the Pre- Law Society, French Club, Spanish Club, and belonged to the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society,” she said.

“I also studied Spanish in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico and accomplished an internship with the Kleberg County District Attorney’s Office,” Lomas said.

Throughout her studies at TAMUK, Lomas worked part time to assist with her educational expenses. She worked at the Kleberg County Clerk’s Office; Kingsville Title Services, and with Kingsville Independent School District as a substitute teacher.

“These experiences provided me with a wealth of knowledge related to county government that I have been able to add to my educational accomplishments and political science degree,” Lomas said. “Working with Kleberg County, Kingsville Title Company, Kingsville Independent School District, and Kleberg County Human Services has provided me with invaluable experience that will enable me to manage the Kleberg County District Clerk’s office effectively and efficiently,” Lomas said.

Lomas feels she has the knowledge and expertise in maintaining records, administering data technology, and working with employees which would be essential for the office of the District Clerk for Kleberg County.

“I have extensive experience in managing information technology, which is the focal point of the District Clerk’s office in providing assistance to our judicial system,” Lomas said.

“I am a responsible and committed individual who is dedicated to service in the Kleberg County community, and I want to continue in that capacity as a public servant. I have worked well with the public and with all officials in government and plan to maintain excellence in performing the duties of district clerk,” she said.
