Juan Diego Herrera Juan Diego Herrera Juan Diego Herrera, 15, of Kingsville died December 7, 2009 in Kingsville. Diego was born on January 12, 1994 to Denise Garcia Richey and the late Hector Jaime Herrera.

Diego was a very kind hearted young man who loved to joke. He loved listening to music and took great pride in his collection of tennis shoes. He was known to many friends as “the guy with the nice shoes”. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends and believed in loyalty and committed himself to sticking by others whenever they were in need. Diego attended Bishop CISD from pre-kinder to 8th grade and Kingsville ISD from 8th grade to 9th. In his time at both schools he made many friends and created many long lasting memories. Juan Diego Herrera is preceded in death by his father Hector Jaime Herrera of Kingsville, his maternal grandmother, Sylvia Rangel Garcia of Ben Bolt, Texas and paternal grandfather Hector Herrera of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Survivors include his parents, Denise (David) Richey of Kingsville; sisters, Soleil Pilgrim and Elasha Pilgrim both of Kingsville; brothers, Jaime Herrera of Fort Hood, Texas and Hector Herrera of Okinawa, Japan. A niece Elora Espinoza and nephew Zachary Castillo both of Kingsville; girlfriend Alicia Tate of Kingsville; maternal grandfather, Jose (Kookie) Garcia of Kingsville and Paternal grandmother Yolanda Herrera of Zapata, Texas and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation was held at Kingsville Memorial Funeral Home from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm on December 9, 2009 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening.

Funeral Service was held on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 10:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop M. Garcia officiating.

Interment followed at Chamberlain Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Garrett Lee, Dylan Horner, Edmund Colin, Jaime Herrera, Hector Herrera, and Mario Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers were Joel Gonzalez and Victor Gonzalez.
