Priscilla Alaniz Cantu seeks 2nd term

Priscilla Alaniz Cantu, a lifelong county resident, is seeking her second term for the position of Kleberg County treasurer.
If re-elected, she said that she would continue, as county treasurer, to provide overall department management and direction as required by the laws of Texas.
“The office of the county treasurer is responsible to the people of Kleberg County for the effective and efficient administration of tax dollars, and through the operation of a cash management system, it is also responsible for the receipt, the custody, the investment and disbursement of all county funds,” Alaniz Cantu said.
The county treasurer said with her experiences and knowledge of modern technology, she would continue to manage and operate the automated system being used by Kleberg County to provide daily cash tracking and reconcialiation and fund account tracking and reporting.
Alaniz Cantu also said she would continue to invest all county funds in order to maximized yield, while judiciously protectiong the safety and security of those public funds. “I will continue to strive to maintain the integrity and punctuality of the treasurer’s office and will continue to search for updated financial programs that will earn the most capital for Kleberg County,” Alaniz Cantu said.
She said she would continue to maintain a professional and curteous rapport with all elected officials and staff memebers of Kleberg County and most of all, the general public.
Alaniz Cantu said her goals are to continue to learn and to help Kleberg County succeed in all aspects of its operations.
The county treasurer is a graduate of H. M. King High School and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
