Carlos G. Escobedo Carlos G. Escobedo, age 74, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009 in Kingsville. He was born on November 4, 1935 in Loma Alta, Texas to Eusebio Escobedo and Carlota Gonzalez Escobedo. Carlos worked for the Shelton Ranch in Kerrville, Texas as Bobby Shelton’s personal Chauffeur until his retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Cursillista Religious Society and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3389.

Carlos was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Matilde Montemayor Escobedo who passed away on July 16, 2003; and two brothers, Francisco Escobedo and Jesus Escobedo.

He is survived by three brothers, Nicolas Escobedo of Stephenville, Texas and Cipriano (Pita) Escobedo and Joe T. (Dora) Garcia, both of Kingsville; sister, Elida (Julian) Buentello of LaPorte, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carlos never had children of his own, but considered Royce C. Johnston’s children, Susan and Kathleen, and Bobby Shelton’s children, Anice, Noel, Sarita, Beto, Katie, Susan, Saphronia, Kempe and Rosa, as his own.

A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Kingsville, with Fr. Romeo Salinas as celebrant. Burial followed in Premont, Texas at the Premont Cemetery.

Services were entrusted to Turcotte- Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
