U.S. Rep. Solomon P. Ortiz has announced the Riviera Independent School District will receive $179,754 to connect 492 students in Kleberg County to a regional education network operated at the Education Service Center in Corpus Christi.
The Riviera Independent School District is one of 111 projects throughout 35 states to receive funding from the Department of Agriculture for this education service. Texas received $1,443,395 in federal funding for related projects.
“The distance learning grant provides access to education, training and health care resources in rural areas of this country,” Ortiz said.
