Elmer J. Brieden
Elmer J. Brieden, 91, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at a nursing home in Hebbronville.
Brieden was born Nov. 23, 1917, to John A. Brieden and Alice Coleman Brieden in Realitos.
He was a Veteran of WWII where he served in the Army Air Corps as a Tech Sergeant and worked as a rancher and dairyman for most of his lifetime.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Rosie Bagwell Brieden of Realitos; five sons, Sammy (Irene) Brieden of Myersville, E.J. (Roberta) Brieden Jr. of Lolita, Arthur Gene Brieden of Realitos, James (Nellie) Brieden of Carrizo Springs, and Ronald (Sheila) Brieden of Freer; one daughter Connie (Edwin) Ward of Laredo; one brother Johnny Brieden of Brenham; two sisters, Virginia Haner of Realitos, and Georgia Gentry of Calallen; 18 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Nov. 12 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville.
A funeral service was celebrated Nov. 13 at the Bethany Baptist Church in Realitos.
Burial followed at the Brieden Family Ranch Cemetery.
