The Bishop Lady Badgers varsity volleyball squad had a great year, reaching the area playoffs before getting knocked out by Vanderbilt Industrial three games to two. In what was supposed to be a rebuilding year, the Lady Badgers earned the District 32-2A championship and named Bi-District champions with a bye in the first round of the playoffs. More ... The Bishop Badgers and Riviera Seahawks varsity football teams went onto the field with each vying for the final playoff spot in district 32-2A this past Friday in Riviera. The Badgers struck quickly, scoring on the first play from scrimmage as sophomore running back Jacob Beltran scampered 77 yards for a Bishop touchdown. More ... For the first time since 2004, Riviera-Kaufer’s varsity football team secured the third and final District 32-2A playoff spot after the Seahawks beat Bishop 35-10 last Friday. Kaufer (5-5 overall, 2-3 district) faces Three Rivers at West Oso at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Head Coach Arturo de la Rosa said his platoon succeeded on Friday by never turning their intensity down.
