Attention book lovers and supporters of children readers: your help is immediately needed. Due to budget cuts, the Robert J. Kleberg Public Library has been extremely limited in its purchase of new books for young children, juveniles, and teens.

The library has been trying to update the collection for young readers but due to a tighter purchasing budget very few books will be ordered.

Danielle Friend, the children’s librarian, welcomes all new and used books for both children and adults. New and gently used books will be considered to be placed in the collection. Older and worn books will be placed in the Friends of the Library bookstore to provide a book for someone else. These books include both hardcover and paperback books.

Any person interested in purchasing a book specifically for the library or as a donation may speak to Friend and view a wish list of children’s books and or subjects that the library wishes to update and improve the collection. Books may be given anonymously or as a memorial. These donations may be placed in them on request to honor the giver or a loved one.

“As always we, at Robert J. Kleberg Library thank everyone for your continued support,” Friend said.
