Forty fifth and sixth graders are members of the Bobbots Robotics Team.

ALL FOR A GOOD CAUSE — Kingsville Noon Lions Club President David Christopher and club member Bettie Bedingfield proudly show off the Toys for Tots Travelling Trophy, won by the Lions Club for collecting and presenting the most toys from any local service club during the 2008 Campaign. Club members are challenging other service clubs to join in the fun, but are quick to point out they have no intention of giving up the trophy during Toys for Tots’ 2009 campaign. “We greatly appreciate the support of Las Brisas Energy Center and applaud the spirit of cooperation between community and school to provide the best possible learning opportunities for our students,” said KISD Superintendent Emilio Castro.
“We at Las Brisas Energy Center recognize the potential learning experience your students can acquire by participating in the team’s activities,” said De La Garza.
“We are extremely grateful to Las Brisas Energy Center for taking the time and effort to support our children,” said Judith Stowers, one of the sponsors.
Student participation in the Bobbots Robotics Team enhances the students thinking skills. Judging is based on the team’s project engineering notebook, oral presentation, table displays, interviews, spirit sportsmanship, and robot performance.
Team sponsors, besides Stowers, are Robert Custer, Brian Smith, Annette Ruff and Nadine Jones, librarian.
