Kingsville PD declares bad attitude illegal here

2009-10-18 / Editorial

Editor,

I have had the recent displeasure of coming into contact with our so called “law enforcement agency,” otherwise known as the Kingsville Police Department.

During an altercation that happened in a public place over a weekend, I was disgusted with the protocol and defamation that was exercised upon me.

While expressing my freedom of speech, which is not against the law, this particular police officer (I will do him the favor of not mentioning his name) was upset because I was speaking my mind about the situation to another person.

He then walked behind me and said that he was going to send me to jail because of my “bad attitude.”

Now the reason for this “attitude” was because I had just been hit in the gut by a severely inebriated older gentleman, while walking to my car.

Now, our lovely police department allowed these gentlemen, who were involved in several brawls already, to drive home ... drunk.

This police officer humiliated me by asking me where I worked, and running my driver’s license as if I was some common criminal.

Then, this officer thinks he can persecute me because I’m upset at what transpired; something seems a little wrong with that picture.

If you ask me, I think the Kingsville Police Department needs to train their officers on communication and people skills.

“To protect and to serve:...yeah, right!
