RECOGNIZED CAMPUSES — Six Kingsville Independent School District campuses were honored on Oct. 6 for attaining ‘Academically Recognized’ state ratings for 2008-2009. At the Board of Trustees meeting, Emilio Castro, Superintendent of Schools, and Jennifer Kent, Chief Academic Officer, presented plaques to Kleberg Elementary and its two feeder schools, Harrel Elementary and Lamar Elementary, and Perez Elementary and its feeder school, Harvey Elementary, as well as Gillett Intermediate School in acknowledgement of their outstanding achievements. Castro honored the campuses by addressing their administrators, ‘Thank you for your relentless pursuit of academic achievement. Your commitment to the children in Kingsville ISD is to be commended. Congratulations to you, your staff, your students, and your parents for the Texas Education Agency rating of Academically Recognized.’ Receiving plaques for their campuses were Diana Guerrero-Peña, Principal of Kleberg Elementary, Rosalinda Vidal, Counselor at Harrel Elementary, Dawn Mireles, Principal of Lamar Elementary, Melba Rita Franco, Principal of Perez Elementary, Dr. Grace Ruiz, Principal of Harvey Elementary, and Dolores Hernandez, Principal of Gillett Intermediate.
