Harden Study Club holds first meeting of club year

The Harden Study Club met for their first meeting of the club year at the home of Jo Lee with Sherry Schooley as co-hostess.

After the group had a salad luncheon, Felipa Lopez Wilmot presented a program on “Brain Aerobics.” Wilmot is with the Area Agency on Aging, which has many services for the aging population.

Her presentation was informative, and she distributed several hand-outs to the group.

Sherry Schooley conducted a business meeting. Programs for the year were reviewed. The club will be hosting the South Texas District of the General Federation Fall Board Meeting on Oct. 17.

The meeting will be held at the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church.

Plans were made for the morning refreshments and the noon meal.

The next meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 17 tour of the Kennedy Ranch Museum of South Texas in Sarita with tour guide Homero Vera.

This will be followed by lunch and a business meeting at the Bayside Room of King’s Inn.
