Maria J. Acuna Maria J. Acuna joined her beloved husband, Baldemar H. Acuna in heaven on September 27, 2009 at the age of 81 years.

She was born February 5, 1928 in Kingsville, to Julian and Beatrice Laureles.

Survivors include her nine children: Elva (Rodolfo) Vasquez of Houston, Consuelo Molina of Kingsville, Gloria Acuna of Houston, Antonio (Alma) Acuna of San Antonio, Irene (Francisco) Perez of Houston, Daniel Acuna †, Helen (Ramon) Loera of Kingsville, Roberto (Barbara) Acuna of Kingsville, Gilbert Acuna of Kingsville and Dora (Noe) Tijerina also of Kingsville.

She had twenty grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She has four sisters: Adela (Pino) Garcia, Joyce Pankey, Olga Henson and Anita Laureles all of Arkansas.

Visitation will take place at Kingsville Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 pm that same evening.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 10:00 am at Templo Betel Church and officiated by Reverend Manuel Garza. Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
