Attention Parents: You can check your children’s grades online. Attention KISD followers: you can learn about school activities on Twitter.

Kingsville Independent School District parents will have the ability to access their children’s grades and academic progress through the online program, Excelsior.

The program became operational on Monday.

The ability to monitor a child’s progress online is a powerful tool that unites parents and teachers in making decisions related to individual student needs.

“Providing superior customer service and communication are priorities with KISD. In order to become the best district in Texas, it will take all of us working together to get our children college and career ready. Opening the grade portal also opens the lines of communication between parents and teachers with the students as the ultimate benefactor,” stated Emilio Castro, KISD superintendent.

Parents were scheduled to receive letters this week with login instructions. Parents are encouraged to contact their children’s local campuses with any questions.

Other KISD Internet online service will allow KISD followers something to sing about or “tweet” about. KISD joined the Internet communications service Twitter. Those interested in district news can follow school news via twitter. com/gobrahmas and receive “tweets” when the district sends out new information, according to a KISD press release.

KISD will post news and information tweets for followers in the Kingsville community. Recent subjects have included information about the swine flue epidemic, and school board meetings dates and times. Additional information topics will include campus updates, UIL activities, sports, and band.

People interested in following the district via Twitter can find a link on the KISD district’s home page-www. kingsvilleisd.com
