Lady Brahmas beat Alice

H.M. King’s varsity volleyball team defeated Alice 25-22, 25-29 and 25-22 this past Tuesday and moved their district record to 1-1. Kylie Cranfill scored seven kills and a block. Kristine Munoz tallied seven kills and six aces. Jasmine Richardson collected 13 digs. Stephanie Lozano contributed 10 assists. Hannah Peterson blocked a shot.

The Lady Brahmas junior varsity volleyball team defeated Alice 25-20 and 25-23 and are also 1-1 in district. H.M. King’s freshman volleyball team lost to Alice 18-25 and 18-25 and are 0-2 in district.

All three teams host Laredo Nixon at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday and then visit Laredo LBJ at 12 p.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday. Memorial Middle School’s volleyball teams (7A, 7B, 8A & 8B) visit Beeville at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. this Monday.

Lady Seahawks undefeated in district

Riviera-Kaufer’s varsity volleyball team kept their district record unblemished at 3-0 after defeating Premont 25- 16 25-13 and 25-10 this past Tuesday.

Tina Gomez had fifteen assists, 3 kills, 4 aces, fourteen digs and 7 points.

Lauren Romero scored 6 kills, sixteen digs, 2 blocks and 9 points. Sharla Irby recorded 6 kills, 3 aces, 4 digs and 6 points.

Nicole Falcon amassed twelve assists, 3 kills, 9 aces, 7 digs and sixteen points. Clarissa Arguijo scored 2 aces, eighteen digs and 2 points. Rachel Robinson notched 8 kills, 2 aces, twelve digs and ten points. Hannah Hubert collected a kill, 2 digs and a block. Jessica Yaklin contributed 3 digs and a block. Carson Alsop chipped in 5 digs. Cassie Arguijo contributed 7 digs.

The Lady Seahawks visit Hebbronville at 5 p.m. on Tuesday and then travel to play Agua Dulce at 5 p.m. on Friday.

Varsity football games this week

Bishop’s varsity football team hosts Monterrey Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Santa Gertrudis Kingsville Academy visits Benavides at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

H.M. King begins district play on the road when they visit Laredo Cigarroa at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Riviera-Kaufer’s varsity football team has byes on September 25 & October 2.

Varsity volleyball

Bishop’s varsity, junior varsity and freshman volleyball teams host Donna Idea Academy at 5 p.m. this Wednesday. The Lady Badgers varsity volleyball team visits Banquete at 5 p.m. on Friday.

Santa Gertrudis Kingsville Academy’s varsity, junior varsity and freshman volleyball teams host Ben Bolt at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lady Pride varsity volleyball team visits Benavides at 4 p.m. on Friday.

Non-varsity football

H.M. King’s junior varsity and freshman football teams host Laredo Cigarroa at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at MOPAC on Thursday. Memorial Middle School’s eighth grade A & B football teams host Rockport-Fulton on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Memorial’s seventh grade A & B football teams visit Rockport-Fulton at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Riviera-Kaufer’s junior varsity football team hosts Premont at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. De la Paz Middle School hosts Premont at 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Bishop’s junior varsity and Luehrs Junior High’s football teams have a bye this week.

Cross country

Bishop, H.M. King, Riviera-Kaufer and Santa Gertrudis Kingsville Academy compete at a meet hosted by Texas A&MCorpus Christi at West Guth Park this Saturday.

Memorial Middle School football

Memorial Middle School’s eighth grade B football team defeated Tuloso-Midway 18-14 this past Tuesday. Scoring touchdowns were Joshua Davila, De’Andre Bergen and Andre Wilson. Defensive standouts for Memorial were Orlando Garza and Devin Wren.

Memorial’s eighth grade A team lost to T.M. 34-28. Scoring were Beto Medrano, David Cavazos and Erik Garza. Defensive standouts were Kamar Shelton, Eric Cortez, Fidencio Sanchez, Malcolm Holliday and Micheal Rodriquez.

Memorial’s seventh grade B team lost to T.M. 6-0 and the Brahma seventh grade A team was beaten 14-8.
