Learn Spanish family histories at South Texas Archives presentation Tuesday
Join the South Texas Archives on the campus of Texas A&M University-Kingsville for a free public workshop on tracing Spanish family histories of South Texas.
Tuesday, September 22, Homero Vera, coordinator of the Kenedy Ranch Museum of South Texas and Archives consultant, presents “The Spanish Colonial Microfilm Collection-Provincias Internas” at 6:30 p.m. in room 101 of the Jernigan Library. This hands-on computer search tells attendees how to use the Archives’ records of Mexican nationals, providing family history not always found in county records.
This event is part of the “Re-Discover the Archives!” campaign, a series of free fall events highlighting some of the many sides of the South Texas Archives, which recently relocated to the third floor of the Jernigan Library.
