Christus Spohn offers free breast cancer, prostate cancer screenings
Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg announces free Breast Cancer and Prostate Cancer screenings on Oct. 3, 2009.
These lifesaving tests are being made available through the generosity of local philanthropist, Frank Horlock, Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg, and the Christus Spohn Health System Foundation.
This year’s event is being co-chaired by local business owners Jerry and Lisa Bockholt. The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg H-E-B center located directly behind the hospital.
Both prostate screening (blood test) for men and screening mammograms for women will be provided free of charge.
There are no age requirements, referrals or insurance needed.
The results of the exams will be sent to the person’s family physician or the physician of the person’s choice.
In addition to the screenings, Dr. Gerard Voorhees will also talk with the participants about the warning signs of prostate cancer and breast cancer. For more information on the screenings, call 595-9806.
