Hispanic Heritage Month packed with activities
Events range from speakers to films to banquets
      The Hispanic Heritage Committee at Texas A&M University-Kingsville has scheduled a wide array of activities for the month. Hispanic Heritage Month begins each year on Diez y Seis, Sept. 15, the anniversary of independence for the five Latin American countries of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.

      The Charity Department of the Woman’s Club of Kingsville will be holding their September meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21 at Pizza Parlor. Dr. Nancy KingSanders will be presenting the Kingsville Symphony Orchestra. Cookbooks, yearbooks, and pecan orders will be available at the meeting.

      Wayne Cole has been named manager at the Kingsville Tractor Supply Company store that is nearing completion, according to District Manager Benny Villalbos. Tractor Supply Company is the largest retail farm and ranch supply store chain in the United States and has been operating in Texas since 1950.

Animal Rescue Kleberg
      Animal Rescue Kleberg is a non-profit organization that helps find homes for orphaned cats, dogs and occasionally other animals. ARK is located at 225 E. Henrietta. Hours are from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or by appointment. Photos and descriptions of all pets ready for adoption can be viewed at the ARK web site at www.ark1.petfinder.com.
