Pct. 3 JP Sam Brown seeks another term
Judge Sam Brown
Judge Sam Brown has announced his candidacy for re-election to the Justice Court of Precinct 3 in Kleberg County in the Democratic March 2010 primary.
Judge Brown was elected as Justice of the Peace in 2006, and since that time has worked as a full-time judge to ensure the highest level of integrity at the Justice Court of Precinct 3.
For two consecutive years 2008 and again in 2009 Judge Brown has been inducted into the College of Justice Court Judges. He is one of only a select few judges from across Texas who have been honored. Judge Brown received this honor for academic achievement above and beyond what is required by the State of Texas along with his commitment to community and public service.
“When I first ran for office of Justice of the Peace, I promised the citizens of Precinct 3 and Kleberg County I would be a fulltime judge and I have kept that promise. Whether it has been as a magistrate at the Kleberg County Jail, performing an inquest at the National Seashore, hearing an instanter complaint at my office or presiding over court, I have performed these tasks, regardless of the time, whether it be day or night,” Judge Brown said.
The JP candidate stated that his proudest accomplishment since taking office has been in the area of truancy and thwarting it in this area’s schools.
“Working administrators of the Community in Schools programs we were able to obtain a grant to hire a full time court case worker to help the court monitor all truant students who are under a Court order in the Kingsville School District,” he stated.
“As of this school year working with the new KISD superintendent, King High School truancy office and the principal of Laser School, we have obtained funds through the Crime Stoppers program to begin electronic monitoring of second offense truant students,” Judge Brown stated.
In the Ricardo area, the Kleberg County Sheriff and Brown have mentored students to give them advice with their personal and family problems and help them stay in school.
At the Riviera School District, the high school and junior high school principals, along with the RISD superintendent he has developed a program to help students accused of disorderly conduct to fulfill their Court Orders by doing in-house community service at schools.
He stated that supporting one’s community is another aspect of being a good public servant. “It has always been an honor for me and my wife to help sponsor the Chili Cook-off and purchase projects at the Kleberg County Fair, and to give silent prizes to the Ricardo School’s fall festival. And working with civic-minded individuals in Riviera, we were able to re-open the Riviera Historic Museum and to celebrate Riviera’s 100th anniversary,” he said.
“It has been a true honor serving the citizens of Precinct 3 in Kleberg County and with your support in the upcoming electoral process I will continue to do so,” he said.
“And, always know that as your full time public servant, all findings and judgments in my court will always be fair and impartial according to all laws of the State of Texas that apply to the Justice of the Peace Court,” he said.
“This is my pledge to you, and how I have conducted myself as your Justice Court judge, and I will always be a judge for all citizens of Precinct 3 and Kleberg County,” he stated.
