Badgers ranked sixth in the state

Bishop High School’s varsity baseball team, currently ranked sixth in the state by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association, has two things going for them right now.

For one, the Badgers have a large number of veteran players (including five starters) from last year’s team back for this season.

I will be the first to admit that in six attempts to win a tournament at the annual World Series of Poker, I have never come close.

In my first try, the 2006 media/celebrity event, I busted out on the very first hand in less than five minutes. This past summer, I played for about six hours before bluffing one too many times and getting busted out.

Santa Gertrudis Academy High School’s varsity boys basketball team (16-14 overall, 7-4 in conference) moved into third place - behind Falfurrias and Santa Rosa - in District 32-2A after winning both of their games last week.
