Riviera resident part of state quilt venture
      Riviera resident Yvonne Quarles was one of 12 quilters across the State of Texas whose quilt block was selected for the Texas Department of Agriculture’s 2010 “Texas Wildlife: Adventure Awaits” quilt. An unveiling ceremony of the completed quilt will take place in Dallas at the State Fair of Texas Food and Fiber Pavilion from Sept. 24 to Oct. 17.

      Pvt. Gustavo L. Hernandez, of Kingsville, arrived at the C.C. International Airport on Tuesday, Aug. 24, where his parents Valde Hernandez and Noemi Schubert, along with his sister Nicole Hernandez, brother-in-law Chris Garcia, brother Alan Schubert, and his niece Loryn April Garcia welcomed him.
