Family Keeps Haircut Tradition Alive LOCAL FAMILY KEEPS HAIRCUT TRADITION ALIVE -— In 1990, former Kingsville barber Armando Lopez had given Augustin Moreno, son of Eddie and Ode Moreno of Kingsville, his first haircut after his first birthday. The haircut marked four generations of Moreno men who had their first haircut by Lopez. Now, 20 years later, Augustin’s son 1-year-old Vincent Andres Moreno was ready for his turn although Lopez is now deceased. In keeping with the tradition, Lopez’s nephew, Romeo Lomas, who cut hair alongside Lopez for years, agreed to cut his hair in the same place where Lopez used to have his barbershop. Pictured is Romeo Lomas cutting Vincent’s hair as his father Augustin and grandparents Eddie and Ode look on. Family RSS feed |
