Riviera ISD’s District Site-Based Decision Making committee would like community input into the direction for the future of the school district.

The DSBDM committee is made up of administrators, teachers, parents and community members.

Imagine the excitement of receiving news your writing just earned a first place ranking at a state competition. That is just what happened to ninth grader Jack Burdock, Riviera ISD student. When asked about his interest in writing, Jack responded, “Writing is a good way to get out the ideas that cloud my head and a distraction from the everyday turmoil of life.”

Internet, computer Q&A session set

The Robert J. Kleberg Public Library will be hosting a special question and answer session on computer and Internet use every Friday through Aug. 20 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Demonstrations on basic computer and Internet use will also be shown based on questions asked.

This is a limited seating event so please call in advance.

Santa Gertrudis School welcomed students back to school on Tuesday as they opened the doors to their new learning facility which will house children in grades pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.
